Makapuu Beach is one of my favorite beaches to photograph couples like Annie and Ben. They were visiting from Alabama! Annie and Ben got married a week before their vacation here in Hawaii. They wanted engagement photos since they have never gotten any done, and I was more than happy yo make that happen for them.

Why Makapuu Beach might be the perfect spot for your engagement photos

Makapuu Beach might be the perfect location for you if you want scenery that feels like you went on an epic hike, while not hiking at all. With ocean views, mountains, and volcanic rock, Makapuu Beach leaves you feeling amazed. Annie and Ben’s engagement photos were originally supposed to be a hike at a different location but, due to the weather we had to change location and I knew this location would be the best choice for their engagement photos.

We started at Makapuu Beach and ended the session at the top, at Makapuu lookout. This part of Makapuu gives you a bigger view of the open ocean, Rabbit Island while looking down at Makapuu Beach itself. This is what makes you feel like you are on an epic adventure. The views are breathtaking and a view to remember forever while visiting O’ahu.
